BIM Construction Documents I | Virtual Design & Construction Institute

This course is the first of two in the BIM Construction Documents series, where students use Revit to model an existing single-story commercial building, create a site plan, and develop a two-story expansion. Classes cover how to apply BIM modeling tools to manage existing structures, partial demolition, new construction, and site topography.

Apply BIM Modeling Tools to Create Architectural Models: Learn how to apply BIM tools to create an architectural model that includes an existing building, partial demolition, and new construction. This skill is critical for creating accurate and cohesive building models.
Build Topography & Develop Site Plans: Use external files to build topography for a project, then develop a comprehensive site plan that includes hardscape and landscaping elements. This helps make sure your project is grounded in real-world geography and design.
Graphically Differentiate Project Phases: Gain the ability to graphically differentiate phases of a project from existing construction through new additions. This skill is crucial for clear project communication and documentation.
Produce Renderings for Presentation & Documentation: Learn how to produce high-quality renderings that are suitable for both presentation and documentation purposes. This will help you convey your design vision to clients and potential employers.
