In the second part of the Construction Management Fundamentals course series, you’ll gain valuable insights into cost estimating, scheduling, and the fundamentals of contracts. The course covers earthwork estimating, various types of contracts, and the safety, quality, and site logistics plans needed to deliver smooth project execution.

Construction Estimating & Scheduling: Learn the basics of construction estimating, including how to break down an estimate and the different types of estimates used. You’ll also explore scheduling concepts, including the Activity on Node Method, to effectively plan and track project timelines.
Contracts & Their Role in Project Execution: Study the different types of contracts used in construction projects and understand their role in ensuring project success. This knowledge will help you navigate legal agreements and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
Safety, Quality, & Site Logistics Plans: Learn the importance of safety and quality plans and how to implement them. Additionally, you’ll gain insight into site logistics, phasing plans, and how to manage job site issues for a smooth workflow.
Document Control & Site Issue Tracking: Understand the processes for managing submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and document control. Learn how to track site issues and maintain accurate records to ensure that projects stay on schedule and meet all regulatory requirements.

However, if you plan to take the course live online, you may need to obtain required software. We’ll help you get set up with a free trial of paid software prior to the class. Most of our coding classes utilize freely-available open-source software. For most of our design and motion graphics courses, we will help you get set up with a free trial of Adobe Creative Cloud. If you attend the course in-person, we will have a computer already set up for you with all of the required software for no additional cost.
